Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus, along side thirteen others, sought discharge from a case alleging the misappropriation of about Tk 25.22 crore from the Grameen Telecom Workers’ profit participation fund.

Earlier, ACC Public Prosecutor Mosharraf Hossain Kazol argued for framing charges in opposition to the accused. The thirteen different accused include Grameen Telecom Managing Director Nazmul Islam, Directors Ashraful Hassan, Naznin Sultana, Parvin Mahmud, M Shahjahan, Nurjahan Begum, and SM Huzzatul Islam Latifee, Sramik-Karmachari Union President Kamruzzaman, General Secretary Firoz Mahmud Hasan, representative Mainul Islam, Jatiya Workers Federation Office Secretary Kamrul Hasan, and legal professionals Zafrul Hasan Sharif and Yusuf Ali.
The case become filed by using Gulshan Anwar on May 30 of the preceding year with the ACC’s integrated district office in Dhaka.
